Bias-Adjustment

Temperature variables from JRA-55 are used to adjust additively the historical and SSP1-2.6 and SSP3-7.0 model runs relative to the 1961-1990 climatological baseline.

Precipitation variables from GPCCD-FDD are used to adjust multiplicatively the historical and SSP1-2.6 and SSP3-7.0 model runs relative to the 1982-2016 climatological baseline.

Observational/reanalysis data is not yet available for the ETCCDI variables: fdETCCDI, gslETCCDI, idETCCDI, suETCCDI and trETCCDI, and hence no offset was applied and these variables have not been plotted here.

Variables whose units are days are clipped to the valid range [0,365].

Variables whose units are % are clipped to the valid range [0,100].

CMIP6 Variables

For the yearly mean temperature (TAS), CMIP6 model runs and CRU-TS 3.26 observations were used to additatively bias-correct relative to the 1961-1990 climatological baseline.

For the yearly total precipitation (PRE), CMIP6 model runs and CRU-TS 3.26 observations were used to multiplicatively bias-correct relative to the 1982-2016 climatological baseline.

For the daily HSI heat index variable (HI), days above or equal to the threshold values [27, 32, 41 and 54 degrees C] are presented as [hi27, hi32, hi41 and hi54] respectively.

Statistics

In the CSV files that present the 30-yr average statistics as well as their difference from the 1981-2010 baseline, all values are provided to 2 d.p.
